VQ valve-cover gaskets and oil leaks
The 3.5 and 3.7 V6 seep from the valve covers onto the exhaust; the burning smell at a stoplight is the clue. Reasonable to do early.
Timing-chain tensioners and guides (VQ35DE)
Whining or rattling on the early 3.5 means the secondary tensioners or guides. Caught early it is maintenance.
CVT service and behavior
The JF011/JF016 CVTs in the QX60, JX35 and newer Q50s need fluid on schedule and have known shudder issues. We service them and tell you honestly where the transmission stands.
Steering-lock and electronic faults
A G35/G37 that will not start with no crank is often the electronic steering lock. A known fault with a known fix.
Front-suspension bushings and ball joints
Compression-rod bushings on the G and FX wear and cause a clunk over bumps; we inspect and quote by the part, not the set.
Cooling and A/C in Houston heat
Radiator necks, fan clutches and A/C compressors work hard here. We pressure-test cooling and leak-test A/C at every major service.
